The Dell PowerEdge R330 is a 1U rack server built around a single Intel Xeon E3-1220 v5 quad-core processor running at 3.0 GHz. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and four 600 GB 15 K SAS drives managed by a PERC H730 RAID controller. The platform targets small businesses or remote offices needing dense compute and local storage in a single rack unit.

Build integration and expansion

The chassis provides four 3.5-inch hot-plug bays that accept SAS or SATA drives and supports up to 40 TB of raw capacity. Two PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated internal storage slot allow additional controllers or networking cards. Dual redundant 350 W power supplies maintain uptime during a module failure. Memory can grow to 64 GB across four DIMM slots using 4 GB, 8 GB or 16 GB DDR4 modules up to 2400 MT/s.

Included accessories and management

A DVD-ROM drive and a power cable are supplied; rails, bezel, keyboard, mouse and video cable are not. Remote administration is handled by iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller, shipping in Express tier with optional Enterprise and vFlash upgrades. The Matrox G200eR2 video chip provides basic console output. No operating system is included, so the buyer must supply their own hypervisor or OS licence.
