The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a dual-socket Xeon E5-2630 v3 configuration into a 1U form factor. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 and a Perc H730 RAID controller with 1 GB cache support RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across eight hot-plug bays. It targets small-to-mid virtualisation clusters or database nodes that need dense compute.

Verify rack depth and power infrastructure

The chassis measures 26.7 inches deep and draws from a single 550 W redundant supply; confirm your cabinet can accommodate the length and that PDU capacity covers the load. Only one power module ships, so plan for a second unit if full redundancy is required. Memory runs at 2400 MT/s but actual speed depends on the installed processors.

Ships without drives, trays or rails

Eight 2.5-inch bays arrive empty and without caddies; order SAS or SATA drives and trays separately. A DVD-ROM is included, but rail kit, bezel, keyboard, mouse and video cable are not. iDRAC8 Express provides out-of-band management; Enterprise features and vFlash media are licence upgrades. Two PCIe 3.0 slots remain for additional NICs or HBAs.
