Only two PCIe 3.0 slots are available, so confirm that any additional network or storage cards will fit within that limit. The system includes a single 550 W redundant supply; a second module must be sourced separately if full redundancy is required.

Cooling and power in normal use

Dual processors and 15 K drives generate steady heat, so the 1U fans run at audible speeds under typical loads. Power draw will reflect the combined CPU, memory and drive activity, with the single 550 W unit delivering all output until a redundant module is added. The iDRAC8 remote-management card lets you monitor temperatures and fan curves without opening the rack.
