1U rack server for dense compute

The Dell PowerEdge R430 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 eight-core processor at 2.4GHz with 128GB of DDR4 memory into a 1U chassis. Twelve DIMM slots support up to 384GB total capacity when a second CPU is added. The PERC H330 controller provides RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 across eight 2.5-inch hot-plug bays for SAS or SATA drives. Four 1GbE ports and two PCIe 3.0 slots handle networking and expansion.

Dual 550W redundant supplies and basic video

Two hot-swap 550W power supplies deliver N+1 redundancy without increasing rack height. The Matrox G200eR2 graphics chip with 8MB cache drives console output only, keeping heat and power draw low in headless deployments. A DVD-ROM drive is included for legacy media installation. iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller enables remote power cycling, hardware inventory and firmware updates over the dedicated management network.

Rails, bezel and trays sold separately

The shipment includes a power cable but omits the rail kit, front bezel, empty drive trays, mouse, keyboard and video cable. Buyers who need rack-mount hardware or drive carriers must source them separately. No operating system is installed, so the administrator provides the hypervisor or OS licence. The configuration suits virtualization hosts or database nodes that can use the installed 128GB ceiling; workloads requiring more memory per socket will need a different platform.
