Dual Xeon 2U rack server

The Dell PowerEdge R530 fits in a standard 2U rack space and runs on two Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 processors, each with eight cores at 2.4GHz. It ships with 96GB of DDR4 memory installed across 12 DIMM slots, reaching the maximum supported capacity. Dual 750W redundant power supplies and a DVD ROM drive are included. The system is sold without an operating system.

H330 RAID controller and drive bays

A Dell PERC H330 controller provides 12Gbps SAS/SATA connectivity and supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 for the eight hot-plug 3.5-inch drive bays. The controller enables mixed SSD and HDD configurations up to a total raw capacity of 80TB. No drives are installed, so the buyer selects the exact storage mix required. Four 1GbE ports on a daughter card handle network traffic.

Memory ceiling fixed at 96GB

The platform tops out at 96GB of DDR4 across its 12 slots, so the pre-installed configuration already reaches the limit. Workloads that need more than 96GB of RAM cannot be accommodated on this chassis. Five PCIe slots (three at 3.0 and two at 2.0) are available for additional expansion cards. Remote management is handled by iDRAC8 Express with optional Enterprise upgrades.
