The PowerEdge R640 packs two Intel Xeon Gold 6148 processors, each running at 2.40 GHz with 20 cores, into a single rack unit. Sixteen 32 GB DDR4 modules deliver 512 GB of registered ECC memory at 2666 MHz. Eight 2.4 TB 10K SAS drives connect through a PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache, supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies and iDRAC 9 Enterprise complete the package.

Suited for dense virtualisation

This server targets workloads that demand high core counts and large memory capacity in minimal rack space. The quad-port network daughter card provides two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links for flexible fabric integration.
