The Dell PowerEdge R640 4LFF chassis arrives with one Xeon Gold 6246R processor running at 3.4 GHz and 64 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. It targets organisations that need a dense 1U rack platform for virtualisation, database or general compute workloads and prefer to add their own 3.5-inch SATA drives. The PERC H740P RAID controller and dual 10 GbE 562T ports are factory-installed.

Two 750 W R720 power supplies share the load and provide redundancy for the single 16-core CPU and memory population.
