The Dell PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack server built for dense data-centre deployments. It ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 6330 processors, each offering 28 cores at a 2.0 GHz base clock with 3.1 GHz turbo. The system includes 64 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC memory across four modules. This configuration targets virtualization, cloud infrastructure and high-performance computing workloads.

Front 2.5-inch drive bay and PERC H745 controller

The chassis provides ten 2.5-inch front drive bays populated with 1.92 TB SATA SSDs. A Dell PERC H745 RAID controller with 4 GB non-volatile cache and battery backup manages the array, supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Network connectivity comes from a Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 adapter. iDRAC9 Enterprise enables remote management, and ready rails with a front bezel are included for rack mounting.

Dual 1400 W platinum power supplies

Redundant hot-swap 1400 W platinum-efficiency power supplies deliver power with headroom for the dual-processor configuration. The 1U form factor uses internal airflow paths to cool the CPUs, memory and drive cage under sustained load. Fan speeds adjust dynamically to thermal demand, balancing cooling performance against acoustic output in the rack environment.
