The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2699 v3 processors. Each CPU delivers 18 cores at 2.3 GHz with a 3.6 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 256 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 24 slots. It targets enterprises running virtualisation, databases or high-performance computing workloads.

12 Gb/s SAS controller with eight SATA SSDs

Storage is handled by a PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache and battery backup. The controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. Eight 800 GB SATA SSDs occupy the 2.5-inch drive bays. The SAS interface runs at 12 Gb/s while the installed drives use the 6 Gb/s SATA link speed.

Redundant 750 W power supplies
