The PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v3 processors running at 2.6 GHz with 10 cores each. It includes 256 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 24 slots and eight 400 GB SATA SSDs managed by a PERC H730 controller. The system targets midsize and large enterprises running virtualisation, databases or high-performance computing workloads.

Sustained load behaviour

Dual 750 W platinum power supplies provide redundant hot-swap power for continuous operation. The PERC H730 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with a 1 GB cache and battery backup to protect data during extended write activity. iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables remote monitoring and management without interrupting the host operating system.

Build quality and connectivity

The chassis fits a standard 2U rack space and ships with ready rails and a front bezel for quick installation. A quad-port network daughter card delivers two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections for flexible network integration. Eight 2.5-inch drive bays support SATA and SAS devices through the 12 Gb/s controller interface.
