The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack system built for midsize and large enterprise workloads. Two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v3 processors deliver 28 cores at 2.0 GHz with 3.0 GHz turbo. 256 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory fills eight of 24 slots. The PERC H730 controller manages eight 2.4 TB 10K SAS drives with battery-backed RAID.

This configuration replaces single-socket servers or systems with fewer drive bays when throughput and capacity must scale together.
