Together they provide 24 cores for virtualization, database or high-performance computing tasks. The system ships with 128 GB of DDR4 2133 MHz registered ECC memory across eight 16 GB modules, leaving 16 of the 24 DIMM slots free for future expansion up to 1.5 TB.

Redundant 750 W platinum supplies handle thermals

Two hot-swap 750 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies deliver redundant power while the chassis fans cool the dual-socket board and ten drive bays. The Intel C610 chipset manages I/O without adding significant heat. Under typical loads the power draw stays within the supply rating and the redundant design keeps the server running if one unit fails.

PERC H730 controller and quad-port networking

The Dell PERC H730 1 GB controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through modes, backed by a battery to protect cached writes. Ten 600 GB 10 K SAS drives fill the 2.5 inch bays, providing 6 TB of raw storage. An Intel X520/I350 daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports, while iDRAC 8 Enterprise gives full remote management.
