The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server designed for dense compute environments. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2609v3 six-core processor at 1.9 GHz and 8 GB of DDR4 memory. The chassis supports up to two processors and 24 DIMM slots for large memory footprints.

Expands from single-socket starter

A second Xeon can be added to double core count and unlock the remaining 12 memory slots. The PERC H330 RAID controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 across up to eight 2.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA bays. Two 900 GB 10K SAS drives are installed, leaving six bays open for capacity growth.
