The Dell PowerEdge R730xd fits 24 small-form-factor drives into a 2U chassis for storage-heavy workloads. Dual Xeon E5-2640 v3 processors at 2.6GHz and 512GB of DDR4 ECC memory support virtualisation, databases and backup targets.

Dual 1100W supplies and iDRAC8

Two redundant 1100W power supplies feed the 24-bay backplane and dual CPUs. The iDRAC8 Enterprise licence gives remote console, power control and hardware monitoring over a dedicated network port.

PERC H730 RAID and 10GbE networking

The PERC H730 SAS controller manages RAID across up to 24 drives. An installed Intel I350/X540 card adds two 10GbE and two 1GbE ports. No drives or rail kit are included; both are available separately.
