Dual Xeon E5-2680 v3 2U Server

This 2U rackmount server combines two 12-core Intel Xeon E5-2680 v3 processors at 2.5 GHz with 3.3 GHz turbo. It ships with 768 GB of DDR4 ECC memory across 24 slots and supports up to 1.5 TB total. The platform targets virtualisation hosts, database nodes and high-performance compute clusters that need dense local storage.

Hot-swap bays and redundant power

Twelve 3.5-inch drive bays hold 6 TB enterprise SATA drives at 7.2 K rpm behind a PERC H730 RAID controller with 1 GB cache and battery backup. The controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies and hot-swap fans keep the system running during module replacement. A quad-port network daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links.

Verify rack depth and HBA needs

Confirm your rack can accommodate the chassis depth and that the included sliding rails match your mounting posts. The PERC H730 uses a dedicated mini slot, so no standard PCIe slot is consumed. iDRAC8 Enterprise provides remote KVM and lifecycle management over a dedicated management port. Ensure your switch has SFP+ optics or DAC cables for the 10 Gb ports if you plan to use them.
