Two Xeon E5-2680 v4 processors deliver 28 cores at 2.4 GHz, while 512 GB of DDR4 memory supports heavy virtualization. The PERC H730 controller manages twelve 4 TB enterprise SATA drives in RAID configurations. Dual 750 W platinum supplies and iDRAC8 Enterprise provide redundancy and remote management.

The twelve-bay chassis and H730 controller target workloads such as data warehouses, VDI storage nodes and backup repositories. Buyers who need GPU acceleration, more than two processor sockets or an all-flash array should look at something else. The system ships with mechanical drives only and no solid-state devices are installed. Network connectivity includes two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports via the X520/I350 daughter card.

The 2U form factor fits exactly twelve 3.5-inch SATA drives, and the PERC H730 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Memory scales to 1.5 TB across twenty-four DDR4 slots using registered ECC modules. CPU sockets are fully populated at two Xeon processors, so no further processor upgrades are possible. Rails and front bezel are included for immediate rack mounting.
