The Dell PowerEdge R730xd packs twenty-four 2.5-inch drive bays into a two-unit rack chassis. Dual Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors running at 2.4 GHz provide twelve total cores for multi-threaded applications. The system ships with 256 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across eight 32 GB modules. A PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache manages the installed solid-state drives.

Twenty-four 800 GB SATA SSDs deliver consistent read and write bandwidth across long-running jobs such as database logging or virtual desktop hosting.
