The PowerEdge R730xd packs two 10-core Xeon E5-2660 v3 processors running at 2.6 GHz with 3.3 GHz turbo into a 2U rack chassis. It targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, VDI, databases or HPC data nodes that need high core counts and large memory capacity in a compact form factor.

Redundant platinum power supplies

Dual 750 W platinum-efficiency PSUs provide redundant hot-swap power for continuous operation. The 2U height accommodates the 24-drive bay layout and dual-processor thermal design while fitting standard rack enclosures.

Twenty-four 2.5-inch SAS bays

The front panel holds 24 enterprise 1.2 TB 10 K SAS drives backed by a PERC H730 1 GB controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. A quad-port network daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links, while iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables remote management. Rails and bezel are included for immediate rack mounting.
