Dense storage in 2U

The Dell PowerEdge R730XD packs twelve 3.5-inch hot-plug bays into a 2U rack chassis. A single Xeon E5-2650 v3 delivers ten cores at 2.3 GHz with twenty threads. Forty-eight gigabytes of DDR4 populate the twenty-four DIMM slots, reaching the installed maximum of 48 GB.

Build integration

Three 1 TB 7.2 K SATA drives sit behind the H330 RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. Two 750 W redundant power supplies share the load. Four 1 GbE ports come from the daughter card while up to six PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated RAID slot remain open for expansion.

Included accessories

The H330 controller enables hardware RAID without consuming a PCIe slot. A DVD-ROM drive handles legacy media installation. iDRAC8 Express provides out-of-band management with Lifecycle Controller for firmware updates and hardware inventory.
