The Dell PowerEdge R730XD fits in a 2U rack space and holds up to 24 x 2.5" hot-plug SAS or SATA drives. Two Xeon E5-2609 v3 six-core processors run at 1.9GHz with 64GB of DDR4 memory installed across 24 DIMM slots. The H330 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60 for flexible array layouts.

Verify rack depth and power infrastructure

The chassis measures 26.8 inches deep, 17.44 inches wide and 3.4 inches high, so confirm your cabinet clearance and rail kit compatibility. Two redundant 750W hot-swap power supplies require matching PDU connectors and circuit capacity. Network connectivity uses a daughter card with four 1GbE ports; optional 10GbE NDCs occupy the same slot. Six PCIe 3.0 slots plus a dedicated RAID card slot are available for expansion cards.

Dual redundant supplies and iDRAC8 management

Redundant 750W units share load and allow hot replacement without downtime. The iDRAC8 Express module provides remote console, virtual media and lifecycle controller functions out of band.
