Dell PowerEdge R740 2U dual-socket server

The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Gold 6126 processors. Each CPU delivers 12 cores at 2.6GHz with 19.25M cache. The system ships with 256GB of DDR4 memory configured as 16 modules of 16GB PC4-2666. Four 960GB SAS SSDs are installed on an H730P RAID controller.

PCIe Gen 3 expansion ceiling

Up to eight PCIe Gen 3 slots are available for additional controllers or accelerators. The integrated Intel X550 network daughter card provides two 10Gb RJ45 ports and two 1Gb RJ45 ports. No optical drive bay is present in the chassis. Remote management is handled by iDRAC9 Enterprise.
