Dual-socket Silver 4210R 2U server

The DELL PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Silver 4210R processors, each delivering 10 cores at 2.4GHz. It ships with 512GB of DDR4 memory configured as 16 modules of 32GB PC4-2666. Six 800GB SAS SSDs are installed behind an H730P RAID controller. The platform targets virtualisation hosts, database nodes and general-purpose compute clusters that need dense core counts and fast local storage in a standard rack footprint.

PCIe Gen 3 expansion and networking

Up to eight PCIe Gen 3 slots are available for additional controllers, accelerators or network adapters. The integrated Intel X550 NDC provides two 10Gb RJ45 ports and two 1Gb RJ45 ports for flexible uplink and management connectivity. Eight 2.5-inch drive bays exist in the chassis, leaving two bays free for future capacity growth. No optical drive is fitted, freeing internal space and power budget for storage or add-in cards.

Redundant 1100W power and remote management

Dual 1100W redundant power supplies maintain uptime during a module failure or maintenance swap. iDRAC9 Enterprise enables out-of-band monitoring, firmware updates and remote console access without an operating system. The server includes a bezel without LCD, sliding rails and power cords for immediate rack deployment. Export eligibility restrictions apply to this configuration.
