The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon Silver 4110 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with eight cores. It ships with 256 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across eight 32 GB modules. The platform targets workloads that need dual-socket compute density in a standard rack footprint.

PERC H730P RAID controller

Storage is managed by a Dell PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache, supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through mode. Eight 2.5-inch SAS/SATA drive trays are populated but no drives are installed, so capacity and performance depend entirely on the disks you add.

Redundant 750 W platinum supplies

Dual hot-swap 750 watt platinum-efficiency power supplies deliver redundant power under sustained load. The iDRAC 9 Enterprise module provides continuous remote monitoring and management without interrupting operation.
