The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server fitted with two Intel Xeon Gold 6130 processors running at 2.1 GHz, each providing 16 cores. It comes with 128 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across eight modules and uses the Intel C620 chipset on an LGA 3647 platform. A PERC H730P 2 GB controller manages eight 2.4 TB 10K SAS drives in the front bays.
