The Dell PowerEdge R740 fits two Intel Xeon Silver 4116 processors at 2.1 GHz with twelve cores each into a 2U chassis. It ships with 512 GB of DDR4 ECC memory across sixteen 32 GB modules and a Dell PERC H730P 2 GB controller. Redundant 750 W platinum power supplies and ready rails are included for immediate rack deployment.

Controller networking and management bundle

The H730P controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through for the two installed 400 GB SATA SSDs. A quad-port daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections driven by Intel X520 and I350 controllers. iDRAC 9 Enterprise provides full remote management with virtual console and lifecycle automation.
