The Dell EMC PowerEdge R740 fits in a 2U rack and ships with two Intel Gold 6126 processors, each running at 2.6GHz with 12 cores. 512GB of DDR4 memory is installed across 16 modules, giving ample headroom for heavily consolidated workloads. Four 480GB SATA SSDs provide fast boot and application storage from day one.

Chassis and connectivity

The 8-bay 2.5-inch chassis leaves four drive bays free for future expansion without leaving the rack.
