Dense 3.5-inch storage capacity

The Dell PowerEdge R740xd chassis holds up to twelve 3.5-inch drives in a 2U rack form factor. Two Xeon Gold 6134 processors at 3.2 GHz deliver sixteen cores for compute-heavy workloads. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed across two 16 GB modules. Integrated graphics and a 10 GbE two-port 562T adapter handle display and network connectivity.

PERC H730P RAID controller

The system ships with a Dell PERC H730P controller managing SATA drives. This hardware RAID card determines which drive arrays and redundancy levels are available. No drives are installed, so the controller configuration will define usable capacity and performance for the chosen media.

Dual 1100 W supplies and iDRAC9

Redundant 1100 watt power supplies support the fully populated chassis. The iDRAC9 Enterprise licence provides remote console, power control and firmware update capabilities over a dedicated management network. Rail kits are available on request for standard rack mounting.
