It targets software-defined storage clusters, service-provider platforms and virtual desktop infrastructure where capacity and compute share the same footprint.

Controller and networking impact

The PERC H730P 2 GB controller enables RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 plus pass-through across the 24 installed 800 GB SATA SSDs. The Intel X520/I350 daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports while iDRAC 9 Enterprise provides dedicated out-of-band management.
