The Dell PowerEdge R930 is a 4U rack system populated with four Intel Xeon E7-8891 v4 processors, each running at 2.8 GHz with 10 cores and 3.5 GHz turbo. It targets organisations running memory-intensive databases, virtualisation clusters or analytics workloads that demand high core counts and massive memory capacity in a single chassis.

384 GB DDR4 with 12 TB ceiling

The server ships with 384 GB of DDR4-2400 registered ECC memory across 48 modules, leaving 48 of the 96 DIMM slots free for expansion up to the 12 TB maximum. Storage is handled by a PERC H730P 2 GB controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, driving 24 front-accessible 600 GB 10K SAS drives; NVMe bays are present in the chassis but not populated in this configuration.

Quad 1100 W platinum PSUs and iDRAC8 Enterprise

Four hot-plug 1100 W 80+ Platinum power supplies provide redundancy for the fully loaded CPU and drive complement. Network connectivity comes from an Intel X520/I350 daughter card delivering two 1 GbE and two 10 GbE SFP+ ports. Remote management is handled by iDRAC8 Enterprise, and the unit includes ready rails and a front bezel for immediate rack installation.
