This Dell PowerEdge R930 is a 4U rack server equipped with four Intel Xeon E7-8891 v4 processors, each running at 2.8 GHz with ten cores. It ships with 1.5 TB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across forty-eight 32 GB modules. The system targets organisations running memory-intensive databases, virtualisation clusters or analytics platforms that demand high core counts and large memory capacity in a single chassis.

Thermals and power

Four 1100 W 80+ Platinum power supplies provide redundant power delivery for the fully populated processor and memory configuration. The 4U form factor allows ample airflow through the chassis to cool the CPUs, memory risers and storage controllers under sustained load. Integrated iDRAC8 Enterprise enables remote monitoring of thermal sensors, fan speeds and power consumption without requiring the host operating system to be running.

Integration and expansion

The server includes a PERC H330 controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and 50 across SATA and SAS drives, with four 2.5-inch drive trays supplied. A quad-port network daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections for flexible fabric attachment. Ready Rails and a front bezel are included for standard rack mounting. The platform supports up to twelve terabytes of memory and twenty-four drive bays for future growth.
