The Dell PowerEdge R940 is a 3U rack server built around four Intel Xeon Gold 5120 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with 14 cores. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across eight 16 GB modules. Build Integration and Expansion

The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch drive bays populated with 300 GB 10K SAS disks and a PERC H730P controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Forty-eight memory slots remain free for expansion up to 6 TB of DDR4. Redundant 1600 W platinum power supplies and ready rails simplify deployment in standard racks, while the quad-port network daughter card delivers two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections.

Bundled Management and Connectivity

iDRAC 9 Enterprise enables full remote management including virtual console, power control and hardware monitoring without an operating system.
