The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server with dual Intel Xeon Gold 5118 processors running at 2.3GHz with 3.2GHz Turbo. It ships with 128GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory and a PERC H730P 2GB storage controller. Designed for virtualization, database hosting, file storage and backup workloads, it supports up to sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays and includes dual 750W platinum power supplies for redundancy.

What to verify before ordering

Confirm your rack or floor space accommodates a 5U tower form factor and that you have the optional rack conversion kit if rack mounting is required. The system includes only four 2.5-inch drive trays, so additional trays are needed to populate all sixteen bays. No drives are installed, so you must supply SAS, SATA or SSD media. Front bezel and ready rails are not included.

Dual 750W platinum power supplies provide redundant hot-swap power for continuous operation. The PERC H730P controller with 2GB cache and battery backup maintains RAID performance across RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 during extended workloads. iDRAC 9 Express enables remote monitoring and management without interrupting service. ECC registered DDR4 memory helps maintain data integrity under prolonged heavy use.
