Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around an 8th-generation Intel Core i7-8850H six-core processor. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 solid-state drive. A dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics card with 4 GB of GDDR5 video memory handles professional visual workloads. The UHD IPS touch display resolves 3840 by 2160 pixels and covers 72 percent of the color gamut.

Connectivity and expansion

Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, one Thunderbolt 3 port and an HDMI 2.0 output provide external display and peripheral connections. A headphone and microphone combo jack handles audio. The Thunderbolt 3 interface carries four lanes of PCIe bandwidth for high-speed docks or storage. Wireless connectivity is supplied by a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo module. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed and a Dell AC adapter is included in the box.

Sustained workload behaviour

The cooling system uses dual fans designed to improve airflow and keep the chassis cool under continuous load. The six-core processor operates at a 2.60 GHz base frequency and can reach 4.30 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology when thermal headroom allows. The Quadro P1000 maintains stable performance for extended rendering or compute sessions. The 1 TB NVMe drive delivers consistent read and write speeds without thermal throttling during long transfers.
