Dual Xeon E5-2640 v4 workstation

The Dell Precision T7910 is a tower workstation equipped with two ten-core Intel Xeon E5-2640 v4 processors running at 2.4 GHz. Hyperthreading provides 40 virtual cores for parallel workloads. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 ECC memory and a 1 TB 7.2K RPM SATA hard drive. The Nvidia NVS 310 graphics card offers 512 MB of video memory and dual DisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor setups. No operating system is included.

Tool-less tower access and memory limits

The chassis features tool-less entry for drive and memory upgrades. Sixteen DIMM slots support up to 1 TB of DDR4 ECC memory when both CPUs are installed, running in quad-channel mode up to 2400 MHz. The NVS 310 uses a standard PCIe slot and draws minimal power from the 1300 W supply. Ensure the operating system you install supports dual-socket Xeon configurations and ECC memory to avoid stability issues.

LSI SAS 3008 and Intel SATA controller constraints

Storage is handled by an integrated LSI SAS 3008 controller providing 12 Gb/s SAS and 6 Gb/s SATA with software RAID 0, 1 and 10 across up to eight drives. Two additional Intel SATA ports at 6 Gb/s serve optical drives. M.2 PCIe SSDs require an optional PCIe controller card, which is not included. The NVS 310 is limited to DisplayPort outputs and does not support modern compute APIs or high-resolution gaming workloads.
