The Dynatron R18 is a low-profile air cooler built for 1U rackmount servers using Intel Sandy Bridge EP/EX processors on socket 2011. It combines a copper heatsink with skived fins and an 80 mm dual-ball-bearing fan mounted vertically to fit the tight vertical clearance of 1U chassis. The unit weighs 480 g and ships with Shin-Etsu G751 thermal compound pre-applied.

4-Pin PWM Control and Duty-Cycle Limits

Speed, airflow and noise are governed by a 4-pin PWM connector operating at 12 V. At 20 % duty cycle the fan runs at 1000 RPM delivering 6.5 CFM at 21.5 dBA; at 50 % it reaches 3500 RPM for 11.2 CFM at 43.0 dBA; at 100 % it spins to 6000 RPM producing 19.1 CFM at 55.8 dBA. Corresponding power draw rises from .6 W through 3.84 W to 14.4 W, while static pressure climbs from 2.27 mm-H2O to 18.56 mm-H2O and 54.5 mm-H2O across the same steps.

Copper Skived-Fin Heatsink and Vertical Fan Mount

The heatsink uses copper skived fins aligned parallel to system airflow, a construction that maximises fin density in the 15 mm fan depth. Vertical mounting directs air straight through the fin stack toward the chassis exhaust, which suits front-to-back server airflow but does not suit tower cases with top-mounted exhaust. The cooler is rated for CPUs up to 95 W; builders needing higher thermal capacity or a backplate for board-level mounting must look elsewhere.
