The EN-Labs expansion card plugs into any x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot and provides five USB-A and two USB-C connectors, each running at up to 5 Gbps under the USB 3.0 specification. It draws power directly from the slot, so no extra cable is needed. Windows 10 and Mac OS 10.8.2 or later work without drivers; older Windows releases require the supplied CD. The package includes a full-profile bracket, two screws and a manual.

Builders adding multiple peripherals — keyboards, mice, drives, cameras or VR headsets — gain seven high-speed connections from a single slot. The card is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices, so legacy gear still works. Buyers whose cases only accept low-profile brackets cannot use the included full-profile cover. Systems lacking any free PCIe slot, or users who need internal headers instead of rear ports, should look elsewhere.

Straightforward plug-in install

Align the card with an open PCIe slot, secure it with the two supplied screws and attach the full-profile bracket to the case. Windows 10 and Mac OS 10.8.2+ recognise the controller immediately; Windows XP, Vista and 7 need the driver from the CD before the ports become active. The most common issue is forgetting the driver on legacy operating systems, which leaves the new ports invisible in Device Manager.
