The eshinreal SAS 2116 is a PCIe controller card that adds sixteen SAS or SATA connections through four SFF-8087 ports. It targets builders who need many drive bays for storage servers, NAS appliances or JBOD enclosures. The card operates at 6 Gbps per lane and can be flashed to IT mode for direct passthrough operation.

PCIe x8 slot and cabling

Your motherboard must provide a PCIe 2.0 or 3.0 x8 slot to deliver full bandwidth to the controller. You will need four SFF-8087 Mini-SAS cables to reach backplanes or drive cages; cable length and latch style should match your chassis layout. The board includes UEFI support for boot configuration.
