The eshinreal XIC PE482 installs in a PCI Express x8 slot and presents two M-key connectors for NVMe solid-state drives. It accepts 2260, 2280 and 22110 form factors so a workstation can add fast local storage without occupying drive bays. The card requires a motherboard BIOS that supports PCIe bifurcation mode.

Passive heatsink required for Gen5 drives

A heatsink must be fitted when a PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD is installed because the adapter has no active cooling. Running drives at Gen4 is noted as the most stable operating point and keeps thermals lower. Power draw follows the SSDs themselves and the slot limits of the host system.

Full-height and low-profile brackets included
