The ESTONE PCIE22A3C adds five USB 3.0 ports to a desktop through a single PCI Express x1 slot. Three ports use the USB-C connector and two use the traditional USB-A connector. The card draws power directly from the slot, so no extra power cable is required. It is aimed at system builders who need more front- or rear-panel USB connections.

5 Gbps shared bandwidth

All five ports share a single 5 Gbps USB 3.0 channel provided by the PCI Express x1 link. The theoretical maximum is ten times the throughput of USB 2.0, though actual speed depends on the attached devices. The card fits any PCI Express x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot and works with both PCIe 2.0 and 3.0 platforms.

Driver CD and mounting screws included

A driver CD supplies the necessary Renesas or VLI USB 3.0 driver for Windows 7 and XP; Windows 10, 11 and macOS 10.8.2 or later install the driver automatically. The package also includes mounting screws and a printed manual for physical installation. Buyers who need Thunderbolt protocol support or more than 5 Gbps aggregate bandwidth should consider a different solution.
