This aluminium heatsink is built to cool processors inside Dell PowerEdge R740, R740XD and R7920 rack servers. It replaces the original TRJT7 or 0TRJT7 cooler when the factory part is missing or damaged. System integrators and IT teams fitting standard Dell server boards will find it matches the mounting pattern exactly.

Direct swap installation with no extra hardware

The cooler bolts onto the existing CPU retention frame using the screws already on the motherboard, so no new brackets or thermal pads are required. Problems arise when the retention frame is bent or the mounting holes are stripped, which prevents even pressure. Clean the old thermal compound thoroughly before fitting, because dried paste creates hot spots that the heatsink cannot overcome.
