Replaces slower USB 3.0 drives

Moving from a USB 3.0 external drive to this 10Gbps interface can cut large-file transfer times roughly in half when the host port supports the full standard. The jump is worth it for workflows that move multi-gigabyte assets daily and where the host system has a compatible Type-C or Thunderbolt 3 connection.

Limited by 10Gbps USB ceiling

Sequential reads top out at 1000 MBps and writes at 1050 MBps, so the drive cannot saturate faster Thunderbolt 3 or USB4 links. Sustained throughput will also depend on the host controller, cable quality and thermal conditions inside the fan-less enclosure.
