The HP 17 is a new 17.3 inch touchscreen laptop built around an Intel N100 processor with four cores and four threads. It comes with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD for storage. Windows 11 Home in S-Mode runs on the 1600 x 900 TN display. A fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard and 802.11ax WiFi 6 with Bluetooth 5.4 handle security and connectivity.

The N100 runs at a base frequency of 800MHz and can boost to 3.4 GHz with 6MB of L3 cache. Integrated Intel UHD graphics share system memory and drive the 60Hz panel. Under sustained office or web workloads the four threads maintain responsive multitasking without thermal throttling. Heavy creative suites or modern games will exceed the graphics and memory headroom.

Quiet operation with modest power draw

The 45W power adapter charges a 3-cell 41 WHr battery that fits inside the 0.9 inch thick chassis. Fan noise stays low during typical browsing and document work because the low-power processor generates limited heat. The TN touchscreen adds minimal extra draw.
