The HP EliteBook 850 G5 G6 is a new silver business laptop with a 15.6-inch FHD 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with Intel UHD Graphics 620. The system includes 32GB DDR4 memory configured as 16 GB x 2 and a 256GB SSD.

Upgrade from dual-core ultraportables

This unit replaces older dual-core machines when workloads need four physical cores and 32GB of memory for virtual machines or large spreadsheets. The jump is worth it for IT-managed fleets that require Intel vPro manageability, HP Sure Start BIOS protection and HP Sure Recover deployment options. Buyers who want discrete graphics or more storage capacity should look elsewhere.

Standard business deployment

Installation follows normal Windows 10 Pro provisioning with drivers for Intel UHD Graphics 620, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and the webcam. The notebook provides 2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A, 1 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C with Thunderbolt, HDMI 1.4b, RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet, combo audio jack, docking connector, optional SC reader and optional SIM slot.
