It targets administrators upgrading servers or workstations to 10 Gigabit fiber without locking them into a specific transceiver. The low-profile bracket allows installation in compact chassis.

Capacity and headroom

The card supports 10 Gbps line rate and negotiates down to 1 Gbps where needed, handling 10GBase-SR, LR, ER, ZR and LRM optics as well as DAC or AOC cables. Throughput is limited to the single 10 Gbps lane, so aggregating multiple 10 Gbps streams or moving to 25 Gbps requires additional ports or a different adapter.

Bundled accessories and driver support

A low-profile bracket, a driver CD and a printed user manual are included so the card fits both full-height and low-profile slots and can be installed on Windows 7 through 11, Windows Server 2012 through 2022, Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris and VMware ESX without downloading files first.
