Balanced 1U rack server

The HP ProLiant DL160 Gen9 fits a standard 1U rack space and ships with dual Xeon E5-2603 v3 processors, each offering six cores at 1.6GHz. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 ECC memory are installed across the 16 DIMM slots, leaving room for expansion. The B140i controller provides software RAID 0, 1 and 5 for SATA drives only. Two drive trays with screws are included, but no drives ship with the unit.

Memory ceiling at 32GB

The platform supports up to 1TB of DDR4 across 16 slots, yet this configuration arrives at the 32GB maximum the installed processors can address at 2400MT/s. Eight small-form-factor bays accept 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives, giving dense local storage in a shallow chassis. Workloads that need more than 32GB of RAM or hardware RAID acceleration will outgrow this build quickly.

Redundant hot-swap power and embedded networking

A 550W redundant hot-swap supply keeps the server running during a module swap, and the 1U depth suits space-constrained racks. The Matrox G200 graphics core with 16MB video memory handles basic console output only. Dual embedded 1Gb Ethernet ports from the 361i adapter provide standard network connectivity without consuming a PCIe slot. No operating system is included.
