Dense 1U compute platform

The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 packs two Xeon E5-2620 v3 processors and 16GB of DDR4 memory into a single rack unit. It targets workloads that need high core density in limited space, such as virtualisation hosts or database nodes. Buyers who need more than 16GB of installed memory or pre-installed storage drives should look elsewhere. The B140i controller supports SATA RAID only, so SAS-only arrays are not an option.

Redundant power and eight drive bays

Two hot-swap 500W supplies provide redundancy without shutting down for replacement. Eight 2.5-inch SFF bays accept SATA drives for RAID 0, 1, 5 or 10 configurations, and two trays with screws are included. The 24 DIMM slots allow future expansion up to the platform maximum, though actual speed depends on the installed processors. No optical drive or media bay is fitted.

Efficient cooling in a 1U form factor

The 1U chassis uses internal airflow channels to cool both CPUs and memory with minimal acoustic impact in typical rack environments. Dual redundant supplies share the load, reducing per-unit stress and heat output. Power draw scales with processor utilisation, and the Matrox G200 graphics subsystem consumes negligible power for headless operation.
