The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits a single Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 twelve-core processor running at 2.3 GHz into a 1U chassis. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed across the 24 DIMM slots. Two 4 TB 7.2K SAS drives provide 8 TB of raw storage managed by the Smart HBA H240ar controller. The system targets organisations that need compute density in standard rack cabinets without a pre-installed operating system.

Redundant Power And Four LFF Bays

Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies deliver N+1 redundancy so a single supply failure does not interrupt operation. Four large-form-factor 3.5-inch drive bays are populated with the two SAS drives, leaving two bays free for future expansion. The H240ar controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across SAS and SATA devices. A Matrox G200 graphics adapter handles basic console output without occupying a PCIe slot.

Verify Rack Depth And Memory Growth

Confirm the rack enclosure provides sufficient depth for the 1U chassis and its rear cable management. The installed 32 GB DDR4 configuration uses registered ECC modules; any memory upgrade must match that specification and the 2400 MT/s speed ceiling dictated by the processor. A second Xeon E5-2600 v3 or v4 processor can be added to reach the 36-core maximum and unlock the remaining 12 DIMM slots. No operating system media or licence is included.
