Upgrade path from single-socket to dual-socket

The board supports a second processor, raising the core count toward 36 total cores across both sockets. Memory scales to 3TB using all 24 DIMM slots when both CPUs are populated. This jump is worth it when workloads outgrow the initial six cores or 16GB installed, but the server ships with only one CPU and no drives.

Practical limits of the SAS/SATA interface

The H240ar provides 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA connectivity, capping drive throughput at those link speeds.
