Dual Xeon E5-2630 v3 2U rack server

The HP ProLiant DL380 G9 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2630 v3 eight-core processors running at 2.4 GHz. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory installed across 24 DIMM slots. The system includes two 146 GB 15K SAS drives and an H240ar storage controller. Dual 500 W redundant hot-swap power supplies are fitted.

SAS 6 Gbps and 12 Gbps controller limits

The onboard H240ar controller supports SAS at 12 Gbps and SATA at 6 Gbps with RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Installed drives are 6 Gbps SAS units, so the backplane will not exceed that link speed. The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch SFF bays; additional NVMe or extra SFF cages occupy specific bays and are not included. Maximum installed memory is capped at 32 GB by the supplied configuration.

32 GB DDR4 ceiling decides fit

The server arrives with 32 GB DDR4 installed and the specification lists maximum memory capacity as 32 GB, meaning no further DIMMs can be added without replacing modules. Buyers who need more than 32 GB of RAM must select a different configuration. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics adapter is intended for management console output only.
