The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server fitted with two twelve-core Xeon E5-2670 v3 processors running at 2.3 GHz. It ships with 96 GB of DDR4 memory installed across its 24 DIMM slots and two 500 GB 2.5-inch SATA drives. Dual 500 W hot-swap power supplies provide redundancy for continuous operation.

Suited to virtualisation hosts and database nodes

This configuration fits workloads that benefit from high core counts and large memory capacity such as virtualisation clusters or in-memory databases. The B140i controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 on SATA drives only. Buyers who need hardware RAID, SAS or NVMe connectivity should look at a different controller or chassis option.

Check power, rack space and drive bay needs

Verify that your rack provides 2U of clearance and that your PDUs can supply two IEC C14 connections for the redundant supplies. The chassis includes eight SFF bays; two are occupied by the installed drives. Expansion to NVMe or additional SFF bays requires optional bay kits that are not included.
